Public Assistance - Food Stamps

Benefit: To provide food assistance and improved nutrition

Target Population: Low income families, single adults, and seniors

Income limits: (By number of persons in household)

  5. 5 $2547
  6. 6 $4061
  7. 7 $4575
  8. 8 $5089

Resources: $2000 ($3000 seniors/disabled) per household.   Houses used as residences are exempt and no lien is placed on the property.

Citizenship: Non-citizen adults must be documented and in the United States for 5 years. Children must be documented. Undocumented residents are not eligible.

Required documents:

  • Proof of all household income
  • Proof of identification
  • Social Security Card
  • Proof of resident status if non-citizen
  • Proof of all housing costs, e.g., rent/mortgage, taxes, utilities
    Other documents may be required

On line at www.mynjhelps.org (face-to-face, in-office interview will be required)

In person at:

Atlantic City (serving Atlantic City, Brigantine, Longport, Margate, Ventnor)
