Public Assistance - Food Stamps

Benefit: To provide food assistance and improved nutrition

Target Population: Low income families, single adults, and seniors

Income limits: (By number of persons in household)

  • 6 $ 2904
  • 7 $3272
  • 8 $3640

Resources: $2000 ($3000 seniors/disabled) per household, most vehicles at reduced values depending on use. Houses used as residences are exempt and no lien is placed on the property.

Citizenship: Non-citizen adults must be documented and in the United States for 5 years. Children must be documented. Undocumented residents are not eligible.

Required documents:

  • Proof of all household income
  • Proof of identification
  • Social Security Card
  • Proof of resident status if non-citizen
  • Proof of resources
  • Proof of all housing costs, e.g., rent/mortgage, taxes, utilities
    Other documents may be required
