Public Assistance - General Assistance (GA)

Benefit: To provide financial and medical assistance to very low adults between the ages of 18 and 65.

Target Population: Single adults or couples without custodial children between the ages of 18 and 65.

Income:

• 1 $140 ($210 if documented as unable to work)
• 2 $193 ($290 if documented as unable to work)

Resources: $2000 per household, most vehicles at reduced values depending on use. Houses used as personal residences are exempt and no lien is placed on the property.

Citizenship: Open to citizens and documented aliens who have been in the United States for 5 years

Hammonton (serving all communities west of offshore communities)

Applications are in-person only. No online applications are available.

Apply between 8:30 – 4:30.

Activities designed to secure and retain employment and child support payment assistance are available and requisite for eligibility.

• Proof of all income Social Security numbers
• Proof of identification
• Proof of residence Proof of resident status if non-citizen
• Other documents may be required
