Public Assistance - Medicaid

Benefit: To provide medical and health insurance coverage

Target Population: Lower income families with children and very low-income seniors or those receiving Social Security Disability benefits.

* Income limits are show by number of persons in household and based on Federal Poverty Levels and updated every January.

Eligibility for Seniors and Disabled

Resources: Resource maximum is $4,000 for one and $6,000 for two.

Citizenship: Must be citizen or documented alien in the United States for 5 years

Documents needed: Proof of income, proof of resources, proof of Social Security number, proof of identification and residence. Other documents may be required.

Some disregards may be applied. If income is close to maximum, consider applying.
Adults without children are not eligible
“Parents” can be any adults that are the primary caregivers for children regardless of relationship to the child.
