Public Assistance - TANF

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families

Benefit: Provides financial, medical, and other services to very low income families with dependent children

Target Population: Families with minor children who have very low income.

Income Limits (By number of persons in household):

  • 2   $322
  • 3   $424
  • 4   $488
  • 5   $552
  • 6   $616
  • 7   $677
  • 8   $728

Resources: $2000 per household, most vehicles at reduced values depending on use. Houses used as personal residences are exempt and no lien is placed on the property.

Citizenship: Open to citizens and documented aliens who have been in the United States for 5 years

Hammonton (serving all communities west of communities listed above)

Required Documents:

  • Proof of all income
  • Proof of relationship by blood or marriage between caretaker adults/parents and children
  • Social Security numbers
  • Proof of identification
  • Proof of residence
  • Proof of resident status if non-citizen
  • Other documents may be required

Child Support order establishment assistance and activities designed to secure and retain employment are available and requisite for eligibility
